21.10 final. Schippers must run as relaxed as Carl Lewis could do that when he was the best, can she deal with the stress. Soumare has more experience but .... Let us wait and see!
Obviously, you saw the race before they run.

    Schippers is european champion in 11-12, 2-Soumaré 11-16 ,3- Nelson (gb) 11-22.

    This is really disrespectfull.

You missed the victory of Tiffany Porter (gb) 2- Cindy Billaud (fra), 3- Cindy Roleder (ger), hodde (pb)finished 7th

In Decathlon, Kraushanka won for Belarus after several injuries since his second place in Olympics , Second Kevin Mayer for France after a fantastic team work in 1500 m, 3- Shkrurenyov of Russia, ESN missed bronze for 20 points and got chocolate medal.

100m:1- Dasaolu 10-06, lucky about the injury of Vicaut, 2- Lemaître (fra) ,3- Aikines-arietey (gb), great team result for GB.

So, this is 5 silver medals for France. Fortunately , Eloyse Lesueur is looking for gold in long jump. She won with 6,85m, 2-Spanovic (Ser)6,81 and 3- Darya "top model" Klishina 6,65.

We noticed a problem in long jump Because Mélanie Bauschke from germany was third with 6,79 but just before the last jump judges saw a mistake in their mesures and her jump was corrected to 6,55m.

I thought that this kind of error were not possible in Swiss, WRONG.

Last result in discus men with again a victory for Harting (ger)66,07, 2- Kanter (est) and 3-Urbanek (pol).

    Day 3 in Zurich

Another interesting program with several finals:

20km walk women: The russian favorite is out ( problem with blood ???) but there is two other girls from Cheboksary to win, a surprise is possible with the young world junior champion czech Drahotova.

Pole vault women: Nothing clear here but a tipp on German Ryzih (born in Russia)and other russians or may be a greek.

Triple jump men: No Tamgho, no Idowu, so little battle between Russians (Adams)and French,May be a little tipp on romanian Oprea.

Javelin women: Spotakova (cze) is olympic champion and could make it again, opponents: Palamaika (let) and germans (Stahl).

3000m steeple: Nobody can beat Mekhissi-benabad except himself without kenyans.

110m hurdles :Pascal Martinot Lagarde go for gold against outsider Shubenkov.

We will see too the first day of heptathlon with Nadine Broersen,Anouk Vetter,Nafissatou Thiam from belgium , german girls and Antoinette Nana Djimou.

Schippers will work tomorrow on 200m to qualify for a new final.

This morning in the 20 km walk women, Alimbekova (rus, Cheboksary) won as predicted, 2- Olynovska (ukr) and 3- Drahotova (cze) 19 years old.

Good start in heptathlon for all favorites like Broersen with a national record with 1,94 m and Thiam for may be the first medal for belgium 1,98m. Incredible performances.

After 2 events Broersen leads with 42 points in front of Thiam.

Now third event with shot put and Broersen is in difficulties after first attempt. She needs to improve in the next 2 attempts.

200m Women , Schippers seems to be more strong than others and do not look tired in wining semi in 22-48. Jamile Samuel is finalist. Final tomorrow.

In semi from 110m hurdles, we saw that it is close betwee, Martinot-Lagarde, Shubenkov and may be Sharman.

Very hard times for Broersen in shot put. She made a progress to 13,35m to save her competition but she is far from her best.

So, Thiam Takes the lead with 2982 points, Broersen Stays second with 2962 pts,3- Mokhnyuk (ukr)2888pts.

Martina qualified for 200m final with 20-40.

    Summary of day 3:

Not too many surprises today but some interesting things to notice.

Pole vault women: At the last attempt, Russian Sidorova made the difference with 4,65m in the money time, 2-Stefanidi (Gre), 3- Zhuk-Krasnova (Rus). I saw cries of Ryzih (ger) on ARD.

Triple jump men: Victory for Benjamin Compaoré (fra) who killed the competition with 17,46m on first attempt. He is the boyfriend of Christine Arron and was junior world champion 8 years ago.2- Adams (rus), 3-Fedorov (rus).

Javelin women: 1- Spotakova (cze) like in olympics, 2- Jelaca (ser), 3- Stahl (ger).

110m hurdles: 1-Shubenkov (rus), 2-Sharman (gb), 3-Bascou (fra). The favorite with time (12-95) Martinot-Lagarde made a nervous breakdown and finished only 4th.

3000m steeple: Mekhissi-Benabad won clearly as waiting but as a good french he beat himself by putting out his shirt in the last line. The referee on the track gave him a yellow card but Spain made a reclamation to disqualify MMB.
Results: 1- Kowal (fra) who asked her fiancee for wedding just after the race, 2- Zalewski (pol), 3-Mullera (spain) with mediocrity medal too.

Heptathlon: Broersen had a bad end of journey with shot put (very bad) and 200m (little bad). She lost her avantage but it is very close before tomorrow.

1-Thiam (bel)3851, 2- Schafer (ger) 3845 with an impressive 200m (but not as fast as Schippers), 3-Broersen (ned) 3841, 4-Nana Djimou (fra)3793, 5-Mokhnyuk (ukr)3790, 6- Anouk Vetter (ned) 3718 but too far for a medal.

Correction, Bascou is finally disqualified because he put a feet in another race line. So, Martinot-Lagarde is still a nervous shaker but with a medal.

    Day 4 in Zurich:

Shot put women: Melissa Boekelman from netherland is the last qualified for final. She will not have any chance for medal but it is good to have a representative.

50km walk: Racers are around 30km but Diniz from France make the entertainment,he is trying to win but loosing his panty-short in the same time. He is leading with Ryzhov (rus) but nobody know if is going to stop, to wear a new short or to win easily.

We wait for the 5th event of heptathlon with long jump in 10 minutes.

We noticed the charming german girls Jana Sussman made a dive in the river of 3000m steeple, she finished not dry and eliminated.

C'est dommage, but that can always happen especially on the hurdles when you touch a hurdle and are out of balance. Disqualification of Mekhissi-Benabad, very stupid, he should have known better.

Shot put of Broersen was indeed bad, too far from her PB, 200m also in the last 30-40 meters she lost to much. Translated in points she lost about 100 points. No Gold for Broersen, she cannot deal with the typical competition stress. Long jump Broersen, 6.16m X X, not good.

    Results and program:

50km walk: Johan "the postman" Diniz kept is jersey and short, he didn't stop to shit, but he stopped 20 seconds to take a portuguese flag , then he beat the world record in 3h 32min 33s. 2- Toth (svq) 4 minutes later, first medal for Slovakia, 3-Noskov (rus),4-Ryzhov(rus) exploded and lost. So, he walked a little bit more fast than me but on Marathon.

1500m: Mekhissi-Benabad qualified for final for the revenge of the runner wihout jersey.

    After 5 events on heptathlon: 1- Schafer (ger) 4788 pts, 2- Thiam (bel) 4756 ,3-Broersen (ned) 4740, 4-Nana Djimou (fra) 4720

Broersen made the badest performance of competitors for the tittle during the long jump (6,16m). She looked angry...

Schippers ongelooflijk sensationeel goed!!!

Little boy, she's from the street. Before you start, you're already beat... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8LHZldVLvA

    Day 4 Results

400m men: Jonathan Borlée do not start (belgium lost his momentum since world cup of football),judge did not disqualified Hudson-Smith for false start, So Rooney (gb)won in 44.61, 2-Hudson -Smith (gb), 3- Sanford (isr) first medal from a naturalized american.

400m women: First medal for Italy with victory of Libania Grenot (born in Cuba)in 51.10 (slow),2- Zemlyak (ukr) 3- Terejo (spa) from Cuba.Ohuruogu (gb) only 4th.

1500m women: Aregawi ran like a boss when Hassan ran like a junior staying in last position till last round then letting her opponent pass her after her first attack. But, Hassan (refugee in netherland) was far stronger than Aregawi (maried to a swedish), 3-Weightman (gb).

Qualification for final for Gaisah (ned from Ghana)in long jump.

High jump men: Bondarenko showed a lot of self control to win with 2,35 under rain , 2- Protsenko (ukr), 3-Ukhov (rus).

800m men: Frenchman Bosse lost his bet and finish last. Adam Kszscot won in 1.44.15 2-kuciapski (pol), 3-English (irl) first medal for Ireland.

200m women: No surprise, Schippers won in 22.03 with national record, 2-Jodie Williams (gb), 3- Soumaré (fra).

About Daphné Schippers, her trainer have to think about medal at world and olympics level. On 100m, it looks difficult for her to improve because of her start against jamaican or americans ,on heptathlon: injury and lack of media. So I think she will have to try a double race 200m-400m. She clearly have enough talent on 200 and she got enough resistance to beat every girls on 400m too. Pérec made 10-95 and 21-95. Schippers made 11-03 and 22-03. Why not?

Hammer thrown women: Wlodarczyk (pol) won with 78,76 very clearly as waited, 2-Hrasnova (svq), 3- Fiodorowa (pol).

400m hurdles men: Miracle for Swiss with victory of Kariem Hussein from Musterlingen won in 48-98 before Magi (est), 3- Kudryavtsev (rus). Enthousiasm in Letzigrund stadium.

200m men: 1- Adam Gemili (gb) in 19-98, 2-Lemaître (fra), 3-Zmelyk (ukr), 4- Martina (ned)

    Heptathlon: GMA did not understand live comments from B30;

Broersen was desperatly bad with 41 m in javelin when in the same time leader Schafer made 43 m, Nana Djimou 47 m and Thiam 49 m. Bye Bye gold and any other medals for Broersen.

But in money time, she threw her javelin at 52,18 m taking the lead during two minutes when Nana Djimou made more than 54 m.

So, the defending champion Nana Djimou Taked the lead with only 19 points before Nadine Broersen. Thiam and Schafer were beatten because of their level in the last event 800m.

For Netherlands, it looked like Austerlitz with three gold medals in the same day because Broersen is far better in 800 m with a 2 min 11s personnal best when Nana Djimou had only a 2min 15s performance and her trainer is the same than the looser Bosse in 800m men.
It means 60 points in hungarian table.
But history is never writed before running. It was not Austerlitz, only Wagram.
Broersen began too fast the first 400m in 1 min 3 s when Nana Djimou was only focused on her own time. At 600 m, Nana Djimou overtaked Broersen to finish in 2.15.22 when Broersen made 2.17.66, 6 seconds more than her personnal best.

The defending european champion Nana Djimou (fra) born in Cameroon kept her tittle 6551 , 2- Broersen 6498, 3- Thiam 6423 for the first medal for belgium.
