Wonderen bestaan nog. Bo Bendsneyder werd vanmorgen 14e in de Moto2 race op die rotslechte Tech3 machine en pakt zowaar twee punten. Tevens werd bekend dat Bendsneyder na zijn aangekondigde vertrek bij Tech3 voor volgend jaar onderdak gevonden heeft bij het Nederlandse RW Racing team van Roelof Waninge. De Japanse chassisbouwer NTS levert komend jaar de motoren voor de NL'er. Andere wijziging volgend jaar is dat Ten Kate Honda de motorblokken voor de Moto2 niet meer zal tunen. Triumph wordt de nieuwe leverancier van motorblokken.

Something unusual last Sunday for first race of moto GP in Spain.
Fabio Quartararo won for first time at this level with pole position. The champion Marc Marquez felt with injured arm.

It was 21 years since last French victory with Regis Laconi.
But this time, it is a competitor for world tittle champion and it is not a one shot.
The French could make it again next Sunday on same circuit and we will wait réaction of Marc Marquez when he will be back ( May be this sunday)

Quartararo has been on a roll since last year, so good to see he finally won a race. He was already very good since 2014 when he reigned in the CEV Spanish Open, but after that meteoric rise he stalled a bit in Moto3 and Moto2. The standard bike was the Kalex chassis, but he didn't like the style of riding he had to adopt. When Pons Racing dropped him he switched to a more unpredictable and (allegedly) more unreliable Speed Up, but I think it was the switch from Honda standard engines to Triumph that really helped here. Yamaha's Wilco Zeelenberg was impressed enough to sign him for the Petronas team in 2019 even before they had run one Moto race in 2018 and his faith paid off.

Second in Jerez , second pole position and second win for Quartararo.

This time, it was more easy because he did not missed his start. Marquez was too injured to compete. Vinales and Rossi fought for second and third place.
Rossi is back on podium since 2019 america race. Bagnaia was unlucky on Ducati with engine failure when he xas on way of second place.

Als het om het overlijden van motorblokken gaat dan heeft Yamaha wel een probleem. Rossi en Vinales hebben er samen al vijf blokken doorheen gejast en de overgeblevenen zijn terug naar Japan ter analyse. Bij satellietteam Petronas is Quartararo wel zuinig, maar Morbidelli heeft ook al twee pechgevallen gehad. Marquez had door als een toerist mee te rijden nog punten kunnen scoren, maar dat was waarschijnlijk niet verstandig geweest in zijn toestand

Next race in Brno on 09 of august will be interesting.
Marquez will be on better health but not 100 %, the circuit is not the best for Yamaha because they lack of top speed, good opportunity for Ducati...
If Quartararo survive , it will be a sign...

Marquez is out for Brno.
His try to run in last race had catastrophic consequences. He broke a metal piece inside his arm and now he will miss Brno and Austria too.

Vinales and Bagnaia tasted the macadam again in warm up this morning.

Quartararo looked little nervous but still the most fast for friday.

First time that i look some qualification in moto GP.

Bagnaia was out for physical reason ,he was the most quick pilot of aprilia in begin of season.

Quartararo was leading before the last minutes , Vinales is definitely less fast (5th position) like Rossi (10th).

But there was too brother Espargaro who tried something but they were too short.

Then arrived THE SURPRISE, we waited one Aprilia but the pilot was unespected.

Johan Zarco who is totally lost since 2 years after signing for KTM and reborn this year with Aprilia with the last seats of the team.

He made an amazing round taking the pole position. Quartararo tried to beat him in a furious last round but he slided and fall without injury.

Tomorrow, race with 2 frenchies on top. Most difficult will be not fall in Brno with a circuit very old and dented.

Yes! Good to hear Zarco found his speed again, but he's not riding an Aprilia, he's on a Ducati (don't remember if Avintia has a 2019 or 2020 spec bike)

Thanks to correct me, I am so young in moto GP.

But to be honest, it is look more spectacular than formula one ( except last 2 round last week and sometimes Canada GP)but it is possible that it is by famous french chauvinism.

No problem. To be honest, I'm a fan from Zarco since his Moto2 days, always trying a backflip when he won a race. like here in Austria.



Start in 125cc was slow, but he won Moto2 twice (smart move to stay that year. And in MotoGP he really made the official Yamaha boys look outdated when he could fight for podiums on the Tech3 bike which was one year older. I was actually mad when Poncharral made the move to become a KTM team, as they were shit at that time. Too bad the thing didnt suit him, but the Duc works better.

And you're right, the MotoGP is a lot more spectacular now than F1. In fact, if anyone asks me what the best raceclass is now on four wheels, i'd say Formula 2. Everyone has the same car, the teams have very little time to get the setup right and the mix of good drivers, bad drivers, complete idiotic drivers and talents is way funnier to watch. Only it's hard to find live coverage when you don't have Sky Sports or Ziggo (don't know who broadcasts motorsports in france)

jajajajaja, Zarco toch nog op het podium

Eerlijk is eerlijk ik had niet meer verwacht dat Johann vandaag nog zo ver voorin mee zou doen, maar hij doet het helemaal niet onaardig. Start was helaas slecht, maar goed teruggekomen. Hij kreeg nog een long lap penalty (strafrondje) voor een botsing met Pol Espargaro maar volgens mij kon ie daar niet veel aandoen, Espargaro komt veel te woest terug en Zarco kan niet in lucht oplossen.

Frappant, nou had ik het gisteren over de slechte KTM,s, maar die problemen lijken opgelost dit jaar. Brad Binder, normaal een brokkenpiloot, houdt wel van de Tsjechische hitte en rijd gewoon naar de eerste zege voor KTM en voor Zuid Afrika in de MotoGP. Op twee wel een Petronas, maar het is de verkeerde, Franco Morbidelli. Quartararo zakte er helaas een beetje door op het einde (verkeerde banden of gewoon de motorblok-problemen die Yamaha af en toe heeft?)

I was looking this race on spanish media.

About collision between Pol Espargaro and Zarco, even spanish technical commentor recognized that there was no infraction.

So, Zarco deserved his place on podium.

About Quartararo, he left efficiency all along the race and finished 7th but this place could be important in end of championship, he is again before Vinales, Dovizioso, Nakagami and Pol Espargaro.


Quartararo leads championship with 59 before Vinales 40 , Morbidelli 31, Binder 28 and Zarco 28.

Now , I can sleep before formula 1 race.

I looked qualification of moto GP and formula one.

Boring formula 1 gift the usual result.

In moto GP , there was more emotions. Maverick Vinales caught the pole position after 2 bad weeks. On first line, he will share with Miller and Quartararo.
Zarco is 9th, Rossi 12th and Binder Far (Last winner GP).

Tomorrow , I will look moto GP more than formula 1.

beschermengelen hadden het heel druk vandaag in Oostenrijk. In de Moto2 een zwaar ongeval waarbij Enea Bastianini onderuit ging na turn 1 en de motor van Hafiz Syarin over zijn wrak gelanceerd werd! Ook Edgar Pons en Andi Farid Izidor kwamen ten val. Behalve schrammen, blauwe plekken en gedeukte ego's lijkt iedereen er zonder problemen vanaf te komen.

In de MotoGP was het nog closer. Johann Zarco kwam in aanvaring met Franco Morbidelli richting Remus en beiden kaatsten er hard af. Hun motoren knalden stuurloos door het veld en misten op een haartje na Vinales én Rossi toen die de bocht namen Dovizioso won uiteindelijk de race voor de verrassende Suzuki rijder Joan Mir en Jack Miller. Voor KTM blijft het hollen en stilstaan. Espargaro zat er goed bij, maar na de restart waaide hij van drie terug naar de middenmoot, waar hij zich in de voet schoot na wijd te zijn gegaan, want hij knalde boven op merkgenoot Miguel Oliveira. Die twee zullen elkaar de komende tijd geen verjaardagskaarten sturen.

Maverick Vinales won before Mir (Suzuki) and Pol Espargaro(ktm).
Quartararo who started championship strong was in bad series of race. Today, He finished 4th but with a penalty of 3s . Without that, he would be 3rd.

Francesco Bagnaia was leader of race since beginning with a comfortable margin but he crashed himself alone 3 round before arrival.

About world championship, we have 6 races and 6 differents winners. Dovizioso is first with little points on Mir,Quartararo and Vinales.

Volledig Soaans podium vandaag met Viñales als winnaar. Quartaro verliest de derde plaats aan Espargaro wegens strafseconden.
Met name Mir reed indrukwekkend, iedereen inhalend van 11de plaats naar 2de. Terwijl Espargaro en Quartaro met een ondelinge strijd bezig waren, haalde Mir ze spectaculair beide in.

Na het uitvallen van Marquez lijkt de strijd te gaan tussen Dovizioso, Quartaro en Viñales, die nu qua punten heel erg dicht op elkaar zitten. Maar na de prestatie van vandaag, beter om Mir (voorheen wereldkampioen Moto3) niet te onderschatten als eventuele 4de kandidaat voor de eindzege.

When it is close, all points are important.Morbdelli in pole, Quartararo in first line with Rossi.

Dovizioso is out with Zarco.
Vinyles is far (15), Yamaha dominates with Quartararo, Morbidelli and Rossi , then Miller for Ducati and Suzuki of Mir and Rins.
Morbidelli just made mistake and fall 3rd position.
It smells good for Quartararo

Quartararo made a gap, Rossi feel and let fight Morbidelli and Mir for podium.

Vinales is 10 now.

Second Joan Mir who finish every time well and second in championship.

Derde winst voor Quartararo. Dovicioso verliest zijn nummer 1 positie in het algemeen klassement. Ook Mir doet goede zaken door 2de te eindigen.
Verliezers vandaag zijn Dovisioso die crashte en Viñales die middenmoot bleef. Verder crashte ook Rossi die vandaag een kans had weer eens een race te winnen
